HV Power Transmission

In the period June 2011 to July 2012 SGA engaged in the construction of Lapaj 110kV,  23km (90 towers) transmission line which connects Lapaj HPP and other future hydropower plants to be built in the area to the main power grid in Rexhepaj 110kV substation in Kukes.

SGA delivered the design,  all civil works for the installation of towers,  creation of auxiliary roads,  installation of high voltage power cable,  protection,  OPGW (overhead communications),  connection with the grid in Kukes substation, and construction of new Lapaj 110/20kV substation with one 25MVA transformer.

SGA was contracted in this project by Gjo-Spa Power ltd.


S.G.A. is the only Albanian company to date to have successfully delivered a turnkey construction of a transmission line of 23 km linear length,  110kV operating voltage, and complexity of construction in a mountainous region.


This transmission line is also part of the North-Eastern 110kV enclosing ring which is planned to be built in the near future by the Albanian Transmission Operator.
